All applicants are required to have or create an account to complete and submit your application.  Keep your user name and password handy so that you can "save a draft" and return to complete your submission.  Also this user name and password will continue to be used for agency reporting and future applications.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.  Do not leave any blanks; enter N/A if not applicable.

NOTE: Do not use Internet Explorer when submitting your application!

Be sure to click "SAVE DRAFT" frequently, you will be able to return and work on the application as time permits. Be sure to click "SUBMIT" when completed, you will not be able to access completed submission, but you will be sent a copy of your submission.

 


The City of Henderson Government and Henderson County Government Grant Cycles have combined into ONE online funding application for 2024. 

The application will open on April 1, 2024, and close at 5pm on April 30, 2024. Submissions made after this time will not be considered.

Please note that if you are requesting funds from both the City and the County, that the requested amount will be split 50/50 (unless otherwise specified by one entity) between the two. The maximum request for this cycle is $15,000 per entity. This means if your organization is requesting funds from both the City and the County, then you may request a maximum of $30,000. If you are requesting funds from one entity, the maximum request is $15,000.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Applications will be considered for funding based on the following:

  • Must be a registered 501(c)(3)
  • Must serve City of Henderson and/or Henderson County residents
  • Funds may not be used for religious programming such as religious outreach or religious studies
  • Funds may not be used for more than 20% of administrative costs for the requested program
  • Programs that qualify for funding include, but are not specifically limited to:
    • Provide services that support to Henderson children, seniors, and families in financial hardship, food insecurity, homelessness, and emergencies created by domestic violence or disputes
    • Provide support after-school
    • Provide special education programs
    • Provide measurable economic benefits for, and improve the quality of life of, our community, its businesses and its citizens

REVIEW PROCESS

Review Process
United Way of Henderson County is NOT administering the Funds from the City and the County. Each entity will appoint representatives to the Allocations Review Team (comprised of 12 individuals, and chaired by Jack Brewer) to assess the submitted applications.

Interviews and organization tours may be requested by the team to complete the review of the grant application.

Organizations will be notified of their award by the City and the County in June.

For those receiving City funds will have an opportunity for a public appeal of their award amount at a specified date in front of the City Commissioners.

For those who wish to discuss their awarded amount with the County, a time will be set up with designated representatives to address concerns at the applicant’s request.

Funding Cycle
Funds will be dispersed by the City and the County respectively.

The City will disperse funds in July/August unless otherwise specified at the time of the award.

The County will disperse funds in the first week of July unless otherwise specified at the time of the award.

Reporting Process
If awarded funds, a 6-month report must be completed online by January 6th, 2025, by 5pm. This report will include:

  • Number and demographics (race, gender, economic status, City or County residency) of those served by funds received from the City and/or County
  • A financial report detailing the receipt and expense of funds from the City and/or County
  • A sustainability report showing on-going financial support for the funded program
  • Promotional materials for the organization and/or program funded by City/County funds

Failure to complete the required 6-month report will disqualify your organization from receiving funds in the next fiscal year.
